這或許可說是另種觀點的「基因決定我愛你」。莫妮卡與大衛要結婚了,幫他們牽線的,正是他們多了一條的第21對染色體:唐氏症。莫妮卡的表妹用攝影機記錄下了這對不一樣的新人,從結婚到婚後一年間生活的瑣碎細節,以平實親近的角度,展現他們的幸福、歡笑、困惑與衝突,以及他們的家人們以平常心對待,提供人們「轉念思考」的生命態度。

 

This film explores the marriage of two adults with Down syndrome. Monica and David are blissfully in love and want what other adults havean independent life. Full of humor, romance and everyday family drama, the film uses intimate flyon-

the wall footage to reveal the complexity of their story. In the end, Monica and David are taking the first steps towards a more independent life, independence with the support.

視盲音樂家沃夫岡法瑟在逐漸喪失視力的時候,意外發現了聲音的獨特世界,他走訪鄉間與山林收集各種「聲音」,這些錄音像是明信片,透過聲音他記得所走訪的每個地方。現在,他希望藉此和身心障礙的孩子建立起溝通管道,幫助他們增進自己的表達能力。本片以詩意的風格和嶄新的視角,探索著心靈、聲音、記憶與身體之間的奧妙關係。

 

A touching, poetic exploration of the relationship between mind, body and sound, and a cinematic journey to the borders of communication. The extraordinary story of Wolfgang Fasser, a blind musician who helps severely disabled children to find their place in the world. Through the use of all kinds of sound, Fasser establishes a method that dramatically improves their abilities of expression and perception.

那部拍攝華沙猶太人街區景象的影片並沒有完成,也從未公開放映,卻因為曾經被許多紀錄片引用,成為大眾熟悉的影像。但是很少人知道,那其實是當年納粹的宣傳片,拍攝時間就在猶太人遭到驅逐前不久。歷史悲劇的倖存者如今再來追憶影片拍攝時的情景,裡外對照,所顯現的新面向讓人不得不再三思索我們對於影像、對於歷史的認知。

 

This film seeks for the truth behind one of the most mysterious Nazi propaganda films ever shot inside the Warsaw Ghetto. Ironically, after the war, filmmakers and museums used bits and pieces from the film as objective, general illustrations information source. This film shakes our uncritical trust in the photographic image and the way we perceive the historical past.

1942 年出生的菲律賓導演奇拉.塔西米克,是亞洲最重要的獨立電影工作者。他的作品總圍繞在自傳、家庭、神話與喜劇之間,以獨特的幽默探討文化、記憶、歷史、國族間的複雜關係。他數十年不停歇地記錄生活,讓電影持續「繁殖」。德國導演荷索曾讚譽:「世上最具原創力與詩意的電影!」

 

Born in 1942 in the Phi l ippines, Kidlat Tahimik is the most important independent filmmaker in Asia. His works are mostly about family, myths, and comedy. Werner Herzog once said about his films,One of the most original and poetic works of cinema made anywhere.

你知道菲律賓人和日本人在300 年前是一家人嗎?證據就是許多菲律賓部族到現在還穿著日本相撲選手穿的丁字褲(Fundoshi)。以上的說法當然是博君一燦,不過在這部影片中導演的確從文化的生活層面觀察出發,帶領我們進行一場後殖民美感論述的驚險之旅。 
 
Filipinos and Japanese came from the same origin 300 years ago and the proof is many tribes in the Philippines still wear Fundochi, the costume for Sumo wrestlers. This is just for laughs, but the film does observe from a cultural point of view, and shows us the post-colonized aesthetics.

吃過菲律賓著名冰品「Halo Halo」的朋友,絕不會懷疑這部以粉色、紅、白、藍、灰、棕、黑、綠與黃等繽紛色彩,來貫穿導演個人、家庭、與菲律賓當代史的作品,會是塔西米克迄今最 具野心的精彩嘗試!導演從1981 年起,不間斷地以超八攝影機自由地拍攝他珍愛的家人與家園,持續了13 年。如此輕薄短小的私電影,竟意外搭上了1980年代亞洲最重要的人民民主運動! 
 
Since 1981, Tahimik had kept on filming home movies, which were screened at YIDFF in 1989, 1991 and 1993 separately. In 1994, he continually expanded and reedited these three films, followed by the growth of the director’s own sons while overlaying Philippine history and culture, and finished this feature.
